Malaria - Causes and Symptoms

Malaria is a very common type of disease that affects a large number of people every year worldwide. It is a disease that gets caused due to a parasite.

Malaria can prove to be extremely vital if it is not cured at the right time. It has been observed that malaria stands in the fifth position in the list of diseases that kill lots of people every year around the globe. Pregnant women as well as children are seen to be its main victims.

Causes of malaria:

Since a very long period of time, it has been seen that the basic cause of malaria is being bitten by an infected mosquito. The other common cause of malaria is receiving an infected form of blood from another individual. This results into infecting the health of a healthy person and causing malaria in his body. There are no other extreme causes of malaria.    

Symptoms of malaria:

The symptoms of malaria are the early signs which can be seen in a person who is on the verge of developing the disease of malaria in his body. Some of the symptoms of malaria are discussed below.

·        Fever- Having a temperature is a common symptom of malaria. This symptom can be after a period of time when the mosquito has injected the parasite in the patient.
   
·        Sweats- Along with fever, the patient experiences sweat from his body which is not because of the medicines he has taken for fever. 

·        Aching of the body- Body ache is a common symptom for a number of diseases. But this should not be taken lightly by the patient.   
·        Vomiting and nausea- Nausea along with vomiting is a symptom that annoys the patient to a large extent. It also results into weakness.  

·        Weakness- Like body ache, weakness is also a common symptom for various diseases. Taking rest would be the best solution for this.

·        Jaundice in a mild state- If a person gets infected with malaria, the disease of jaundice can also be seen in him under mild circumstances. This is a stage where he needs to take a lot of care of himself.  

As mentioned earlier, malaria kills a large population every year so eventually, it is necessary for people to take proper care of their health. Everyone should be aware about the treatment for malaria and the necessary tests for malaria that can help to detect malaria.

The outcome of malaria can be worse if the treatment is not started at the right time. To avoid complications of malaria and avoid its recurrence, regular health check up and health care is necessary.
